Inspiration From Others

I love reading artist's blogs in the morning. There seems to be nothing better to get my creative juices flowing. One that I have been following for a while is Plays with Needles . Susan is a crazy quilter and does other bits - like setting up a "Make Your Own Fascinator" Workshop on the 4th of July.

Susan's Family after their 4th of July Fascinator Workshop

I don't embroider anymore, or sew much for that matter, but her creative process just seems to inspire me in so many ways. I encourage you to check out Susan's blog and others as well. I find that if you look through the bloglists of blogs that you like, you will find others that are great too. I'll continue to list a couple of my favorites here and in the "friends" bloglist in the sidebar. I encourage you to send me any creative blogs or websites that you want to share as well. Happy reading and creating!

Color Sense Deficiency

I have a friend in my bead circle who has the most fabulous color sense. I often marvel at the color schemes she puts together thinking, "I would have NEVER done that, but it looks so perfect together!"
Now, Thanks to our friend and follower, Nan Emmett, we have a link in our sidebar to a very helpful website called Design Seeds. This website puts together perfect color combinations that anyone can use in any craft. Check it out. And Thanks, Nan!

July Give-Away

July's Wonderful Give-Away is generously donated by Cheri Smith at Boozy Baubles. These delicious earrings are made from a liquor bottle from France that held Whipped Cream flavored Vodka. Now THAT is a conversation starter! To get a chance to win, just sign up as a follower in the sidebar and leave a comment anytime in the months of June and July.

Bad Girl! No Cookie!

I've been horribly remiss in taking care of this blog and I apologize profusely. Excuses abound - some good ones and others...not so good.  My mother passed away this month - the understandable excuse for not writing, but I also am taming feral kittens, starting the Saturday Market and beading, beading, beading.
So what's up with the Street Team?
I took flyers to Saturday Market one rainy afternoon telling about our blog and our meetings, and our Fabulous Facebook Page. My thought was to give them to people who are in the Saturday Market and also belong to the Eugene Etsy Street Team (a surprizingly large number) . I took 30 flyers  - Oh how naive of me! I handed them all out within the first few minutes and I think I only hit one or two who were actually in the Street Team. All the others had Etsy shops, but knew nothing about the Street Team. So I need to hand out many more.
We have a wonderful Facebook Page that Pam set up. I'm not horrible Facebook literate and every time I try to put in the link to it here, it ends up going to my personal page. Sooo..... I would suggest contacting  Pam if you want to get on it.
In other news, We have 2 booth Spaces for the Blackberry jam Festival in Lowell on the 29th and 30th of July. If you are interested in putting some of your goods there, contact Pam.
If anyone knows of any other great Summer Festivals that aren't an arm and a leg to get into, please let Pam or I know.
Now - I promised a give-away from last month, so here it is....
The name drawn - (shuffle shuffle, shuffle) is ....Oour Fearless Leader, Pam O' Conner!
Seriously folks, it would have made the competition more interesting if we had more than 2 people commenting.  But Pam has won fair and square.
I will post our next Give-Away soon. LEAVE  A COMMENT and follow this blog for a chance to win.

Sell Your Jewelry (Or Anything Else)

I have followed Miss Fickle Media's Blog, off and on, for a year or so. But hadn't checked in with her lately. Thanks to my buddy, Nan, I went back to her blog just in time to pick up her Sunday posts about selling one's jewelry to shops. Check it out. Maybe we can learn something.

Come Inside and Tell Us A Little About Yourself

Greetings Eugene Etsians and Followers,
This blog has been created as a tool for you to use for marketing your product. It will feature handmade items from our group, interviews with our artisans, links to your shops and blogs, other venues where you are selling at, marketing tips and anything else that YOU feel is important. This is YOUR blog and it will only be as powerful as the people who contribute to it.
So send us photos of your items, tips and tricks, your other market places, and whatever you feel is important. If you would like your shop featured in an interview, contact me at the e-mail address in the profile.  Link this blog to your blog, "Like" it on your Facebook page, Follow it on your phone or computer.
The economy sucks and we need all the angles we can  get to make sure that our products are out there to be seen. So let me hear from you. My name is Cenya and I'm here behind the magic curtain to do your bidding.
